What a day!
Sunday marked the return of the Gibraltar Triathlon, our first in over five years, and it was an absolute hit
From seasoned athletes to first-timers, we saw an incredible turnout of people all pushing themselves through Swim/Bike/Run. But the real highlight? Watching the kids line up for their duathlon event. The future of sport in Gibraltar. That energy, that excitement... it’s exactly what we hoped for. It’s what will drive sport forward and help us all reach our potential. It’s what Sam O’Shea would have championed - and we believe he would’ve been incredibly proud.
A massive thank you to everyone who made it happen:
The swimmers
The cyclists
The runners
And especially those who took their first step into sport - you’re what this is all about.
This year also saw the inaugural presentation of the Sam O’Shea Shield, awarded to Gibraltar’s Junior Triathlete of the Year. Huge congratulations to Marcos and Olivia, our joint winners.
Both truly deserving. Throughout the season, they’ve shown the qualities Sam stood for: determination, progress, dedication, sportsmanship and joy in the sport.
A heartfelt thank you to Paul and Angela, who flew in to present the very first Sam O’Shea Shield. Their presence made the moment truly special, and we know Sam would have been proud to see Gibraltar’s young athletes celebrated in his name.
Here’s to more races, more smiles, and a growing community. Gibraltar Triathlon is back
